Enjoying Our Garden

The sun has been peeking out from between the clouds over the last couple of days and the children, Aaron and I have been making the most of it. Yesterday the kids and I spent the afternoon playing in the garden. We did some digging and weeding in the flower beds, played football and drew ourselves a hopscotch with some chalk. We then took turns to jump along the hopscotch...Liam especially enjoyed jumping with me holding him but Amy, being a little older and more of a 'lone ranger,' set off on her own showing us both how to do it.

The kids have been out in the garden again this morning and we spent the day at a local Church fete where we enjoying playing some games, eating cakes and hotdogs, buying a couple of books, toys and a new flower for our garden and having a jump on the bouncy castle (the kids, not us...although I'd have loved to have gone on too!) My Sister-in-Law, Neice and Nephew were also there so we spent some time chatting, playing and running around with them. It was a really lovely, reasonably cheap, afternoon out and the kids had a lot of fun.

A few months back Amy and I planted some chilli pepper and strawberry seeds in some pots; the strawberry plants didn't do anything but our chilli's are doing fantastic! They are getting very big and will need moving into a bigger pot or planting soon. Amy loves helping me to water them in the morning and she tells me that they are getting "really very big" as she does so. She's enjoyed watching them grow on our window sill and hopefully she will enjoy helping me to plant them in the next few weeks too.
